On the coast of the Andaman Sea, Krabi is one of Thailand's southern provinces (changwat). The neighboring provinces are Phang Nga, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Trang, starting from the north and moving clockwise. The province of Phuket is located across Phang Nga Bay to the west. The provincial government is based in Krabi Town.
